The best under table keyboard tray frees desk space and puts your keyboard at a comfortable typing height. A tray under the desk moves the keyboard off the desktop, which matters on small desks. I compared five trays on mount type, adjustment, size, and extras, using only what each listing states. The picks range from clamp-mounted sliders to a solid steel tray with a rotating mouse platform.

How we scored
The OKH Score weighs tray performance, build, value, safety features, and warranty. Performance covers adjustment, mount stability, and extras; build covers materials; value weighs the feature set against the price. No pick states a safety certification or warranty term, so those columns score zero across the board. How we pick explains the weights.

| Ciao Stilista Steel Keyboard Tray | 9.6 | 30 | 22 | 20 | n/a | 0 |

| TooCust Slide Out Keyboard Tray | 9.5 | 26 | 18 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.
How to choose the best under table keyboard tray
Compare adjustment ranges
Adjustment is the headline difference. The VIVO MOUNT-KB08S lists swinging height adjustment with 12 settings, 8.6 inches of extension, and a 165-degree swing, all without tools. The PEGZONE lists 180-degree horizontal swivel and 15-degree vertical tilt. The Ciao Stilista lists a 360-degree rotating mouse platform that tucks under the tray when not in use. The VIVO MOUNT-KB27HB lists height-adjustable mounting brackets with 2.4 inches of adjustment. More settings mean a better fit for your typing angle, and tool-free adjustment makes changes quick.
Check mount type and desk fit
Mounting differs. The TooCust uses a clamp mount and fits tabletops no smaller than 24 by 15 inches, so no drilling is needed. The PEGZONE lists mounting for desks at least 0.71 inches thick, and recommends desks over 31.5 inches high. The VIVO MOUNT-KB27HB lists extra sturdy mounting brackets. Measure your desk thickness and height before ordering, since a tray that does not mount is no upgrade.
Weigh size and extras
Sizes run from 22 to 28 inches wide. The Ciao Stilista lists 28 by 11 inches in solid steel. The VIVO trays list 26.8 by 11 inches. The PEGZONE lists 25 by 11 inches with a storage drawer. The TooCust lists 22 by 11 inches with an enclosed compartment and ball-bearing glides. The TooCust fits keyboards below 19 by 8 inches, so measure your keyboard first. Pick the width that fits your keyboard plus mouse space. For related gear, see keyboards.
Decide on materials
The Ciao Stilista lists 1 mm thick steel plate, the sturdiest build here. The other four do not state their materials. If the tray will hold a heavy keyboard and accessories, the stated steel build gives the most confidence.
Check the desk before the tray
The tray is only as stable as what it mounts to. The TooCust fits tabletops from 24 by 15 inches, and the PEGZONE needs a desk at least 0.71 inches thick and over 31.5 inches high. Measure both numbers before ordering, and confirm the mount clears any crossbar or drawer under the desk.
Setup notes
Measure your desk thickness and height before mounting. Tighten all brackets before loading the keyboard, and confirm the tray slides fully under the desk when not in use. Route the keyboard cable along the tray so it does not snag when the tray extends. Confirm the clamp or bracket clears any crossbar under the desk.
