The dining chairs screech every time someone pushes back from the table, and the hardwood is collecting the evidence one scratch at a time. The best chair floor protector pads end that soundtrack: small felt discs that stick to chair feet and let furniture glide instead of gouge. We compared five felt pad packs by piece count, stated sizes, material, adhesive and surface recommendations, using only what each listing publishes.

Yelanon 216-Piece Felt Pads
A 216-piece pack of felt pads in 8 sizes with an extra-strong adhesive, suited to outfitting a whole house of furniture.
Pros
- 216 pieces in 8 sizes, from 3/8 in rounds to 4 by 6 in rectangles
- Extra-strong self-stick adhesive stated
- High-density felt stated to stay in place
- Box included for storing the rest
Cons
- Spec table lists Material Type: Rubber while the title and bullets describe felt pads
- Unit count listed as 1 against the 216-piece title
- No warranty term is stated
- Beige and brown only
Detailed Review
Yelanon lists 216 felt furniture pads in 8 sizes, from 3/8 in rounds to 4 by 6 in rectangles, in beige and brown, with an extra-strong self-stick adhesive and high-density felt. The listing says to clean chair legs before sticking and includes a box for storage. Two contradictions sit in the spec table: Material Type reads Rubber while the title and bullets describe felt, and Unit Count reads 1 against the 216-piece title; we trust the title and bullets.
Who it's for: someone outfitting many pieces of furniture who wants one pack with every size. Who should skip it: anyone who wants a single size or a written warranty term.

What this listing states. This product does not plug in or run on a battery, so safety is not part of its score. No warranty term, so warranty scores zero. See How We Pick.
Comfort, not treatment. Cushions, pillows, footrests and chair mats change how a desk feels; they are not medical devices. Check the size against your chair or floor and keep mats flat so casters do not catch.

How we scored them
The Office Score weighs performance (piece count and size range for the furniture you own), build (felt density, adhesive and stated materials), value for the stated specs, safety and warranty. For a floor protector pad, safety means the pad stays attached to the furniture foot and does not leave residue on the floor; none of the five states a certification, so the weight falls on performance, build and value. None of the five states a warranty term: the satisfaction promises in two listings are not written terms. How we pick explains the weights.
| Product | Office Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yelanon 216-Piece Felt Pads | 9.7 | 32 | 21 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| X-Protector 133-Piece Felt Pads | 9.6 | 30 | 21 | 21 | n/a | 0 |

| Amazon Basics Felt Pads | 9.6 | 28 | 20 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
| Scotch SP822 Felt Pads | 9.5 | 27 | 20 | 19 | n/a | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.
How to choose the best chair floor protector pads
Count the furniture feet first
Pack sizes here run from 32 pieces to 216 pieces, so count the feet on your chairs, tables and stools before you order. The Yelanon’s 216 pieces in 8 sizes and the X-Protector’s 133 pieces in two colors cover a whole house; the two 32-piece packs suit a few chair legs. If you also need a mat under the chair itself, see our best chair mat for vinyl floors.
Match the pad to the floor
The X-Protector lists hardwood and laminate, the Scotch SP845 lists hardwood, tile, laminate and vinyl, and the Yelanon lists laminate. Check the surface recommendation on the listing before you buy, because a pad rated for laminate is not necessarily the maker’s pick for tile.
Adhesive, thickness and prep
All five are self-stick: peel and stick, no tools. The Yelanon lists an extra-strong adhesive and tells you to clean the chair legs before sticking; the Scotch pads list their own adhesive for easy installation. For chairs on casters instead of legs, see our wood office chairs with casters.
Warranty lines and satisfaction promises
None of the five states a warranty term. The X-Protector and Yelanon listings promise satisfaction and refunds, but those are promises, not written terms with a time period. If a written term matters to you, none of these picks has one.
| Pad | Pieces | Sizes | Adhesive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yelanon 216-Piece Felt Pads | 216 | 8 sizes | Extra-strong self-stick |
| X-Protector 133-Piece Felt Pads | 133 | Many sizes, two colors | Self-adhesive |
| Scotch SP845 Felt Pads | 162 | Assorted | Self-stick |
| Amazon Basics Felt Pads | 32 | 1 in round | Self-adhesive |
| Scotch SP822 Felt Pads | 32 | 1 in x 1 in | Self-stick |
Figures as stated in each listing.
Setup Notes
- Count the feet on every piece of furniture first: packs here range from 32 to 216 pieces.
- Measure the leg or foot before choosing a size; the Yelanon offers 8 sizes, the X-Protector many sizes in two colors, and the Amazon Basics a single 1 in round.
- Clean the chair legs before sticking, per the Yelanon listing; the adhesive bonds to a clean surface.
- No outlet or cable planning is needed: these are unpowered pads. Route cables behind furniture instead of under the pads.
- None of the five states a warranty term, so keep the order confirmation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many pads do I need?
Count the feet on your furniture first: the packs here range from 32 to 216 pieces, and the Yelanon’s 8 sizes cover mixed furniture in one box.
Do these work on hardwood floors?
The X-Protector lists hardwood and laminate, and the Scotch SP845 lists hardwood, tile, laminate and vinyl. Check the listing’s surface recommendation for your floor.
How do I apply felt pads?
All five are self-stick: peel and stick. The Yelanon listing says to clean the chair legs first, and no tools are needed.
Do any of these state a warranty?
None of the five states a warranty term. Two listings promise satisfaction, but those are not written terms.
Will the pads stay on the chair legs?
The Yelanon lists an extra-strong adhesive and high-density felt; the Scotch pads list their own adhesive. We report each as the maker’s claim.
Felt pads or a chair mat?
Pads stick to individual feet; a mat covers the whole rolling area. See our best chair mat with lip if the chair rolls.
