How we scored them
The Office Score weighs performance, build, value, safety and warranty. For a desk mat, safety means a stated certification on the listing, and no mat states one, so safety scores zero across the group. Only the Senetem mat states a warranty term, at 1 year. How we pick explains the weights.
| Product | Office Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Senetem XXXL Mouse Pad | 9.7 | 29 | 21 | 20 | n/a | 4 |
| XL Mouse Pad 3XL | 9.7 | 33 | 24 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| ZOCOZY XXXL Desk Mat | 9.7 | 32 | 21 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| AQQA 3XL Mouse Pad | 9.6 | 30 | 20 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.
How to choose the best desk mat xxxl
Match the size to the desk
The XL, ZOCOZY and AQQA picks measure 48 by 24 in, while the Senetem XXXL Mouse Pad measures 35.4 by 15.7 in. A 48 by 24 in mat covers a keyboard, a mouse and more desk area, while the smaller Senetem mat still fits a keyboard and mouse. The Senetem mat still leaves room for a notebook beside the keyboard, while a 48 by 24 in mat covers more of the desk. Measure the desk first: a mat wider than the desk will hang over the edge, and a mat much smaller than the desk leaves bare desk on show. The AQQA 3XL Mouse Pad also gives its size as 120 by 60 cm, which matches the 48 by 24 in figure. For a bigger pad, see our large mouse pad guide.
Thickness, surface and glide
Thickness runs from 0.12 in on the AQQA mat to 0.2 in on the XL Mouse Pad 3XL, with the ZOCOZY mat listing a 3 mm cushion and the Senetem mat listing 2 mm. A thicker mat changes how the mat sits under a keyboard, so check the thickness figure on the listing. Microfiber surfaces on the AQQA and ZOCOZY mats and a polyester fiber surface on the Senetem mat aim for smooth, precise mouse movement, while the XL mat lists a low-friction textile surface. The XL mat lists a textile surface with low friction tracking, and the Senetem mat lists a smooth surface for precise mouse movement. For a mat picked for comfort, see our ergonomic desk mat guide.
Base, edges and cleaning
Every pick here lists a non-slip rubber base, and the XL, AQQA and ZOCOZY mats list stitched edges. Stitched edges keep the edge from peeling during daily use, while a rubber base keeps the mat from sliding when the mouse moves. The Senetem mat is the washable pick, cleaned with mild detergent, a nylon brush and warm water, while the AQQA mat lists a waterproof coating and the ZOCOZY mat lists a water-resistant surface that wipes clean. Check the cleaning line before ordering, since the XL mat states no wash instructions. For a mat that stays put, see our non slip desk mat guide.
| Mat | Size | Thickness | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Senetem XXXL Mouse Pad | 35.4 by 15.7 in | 2 mm | 1 year |
| XL Mouse Pad 3XL | 48 by 24 in | 0.2 in | Not stated |
| ZOCOZY XXXL Desk Mat | 48 by 24 in | 3 mm | Not stated |
| AQQA 3XL Mouse Pad | 48 by 24 in | 0.12 in | Not stated |
Warranty and what it covers
Only the Senetem mat states a warranty term, at 1 year, while the XL, ZOCOZY and AQQA mats state no warranty term. A stated term gives a clear period to claim under, while a mat with no stated term gives no period on the listing. Read the warranty line on the listing before ordering, since a mat without a stated term has no term to claim.
Setup Notes
- Measure the desk before ordering: the 48 by 24 in mats need a desk that fits that size, while the Senetem mat measures 35.4 by 15.7 in.
- Check the thickness on the listing: 0.2 in, 3 mm, 2 mm and 0.12 in all sit differently under a keyboard.
- Plan cleaning: the Senetem mat washes with mild detergent, a nylon brush and warm water, while the ZOCOZY mat wipes clean.
- Check the warranty line: only the Senetem mat states a 1 year term.
