How we scored them
The Office Score weighs performance, build, value, safety and warranty, as How we pick explains the weights. For eye tracking, performance weighs resolution and frame rate first: the 4K iContact tops the list, while the 1080P Nolansend scores lowest. The listings state no safety certifications, so safety is 0 across the board. Two listings state a warranty term: the iContact and the wegear at 1 year; the others state no clear term.
| Product | Office Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| iContact ProMini 4K | 9.6 | 29 | 20 | 19 | n/a | 3 |
| wegear 1080P Webcam | 9.5 | 26 | 19 | 20 | n/a | 3 |
| BKELHS 4K Ring Light | 9.5 | 30 | 19 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
| RayBit 2K 3-in-1 | 9.5 | 28 | 20 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
| Nolansend 1080P Webcam | 9.4 | 24 | 18 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.
How to choose the best webcam for beam eye tracker
Resolution and frame rate
Tracking software reads your face, so sharper is better. The iContact ProMini and BKELHS shoot 4K, the RayBit 2K, and the wegear and Nolansend 1080P at 30fps. The BKELHS auto-switches to 1080P if the hardware or software does not support 4K. For streaming as well as tracking, higher resolution also helps; see the webcam for streaming roundup.
Microphones and privacy
The iContact has dual noise-reducing microphones and a hardware privacy switch, the BKELHS has dual AI noise-reduction mics and a privacy cover, the RayBit adds omnidirectional mic arrays plus speakers, and the wegear and Nolansend have dual and single mics. Zoom certification on the iContact signals it passed real call checks.
Mounting and extras
The iContact arm aligns with the person on screen for natural eye contact on 20 to 30 in monitors and flips up out of the way. The BKELHS adds a ring light for low-light rooms, and the RayBit merges camera, speaker, microphone and privacy cover into one USB-C device. For desk lighting to pair with any of them, see the ring light for webcam roundup.
