Five mini color photo printers compared on process, stated resolution and box contents: Zink sticker printers, a 600 DPI inkjet and a 4PASS Kodak.

Best Mini Color Printer (2026): 5 Pocket Photo Printers Compared

The best mini color printer, in the listings under this keyword, is a pocket photo printer: every model here prints 2×3 photos from a phone, most of them as stickers. We compared five on printing technology, stated resolution, what is in the box and warranty, using only what each listing publishes. Nothing here prints a document, and that is worth knowing before anything else.

For phone photos that become stickers: a Zink mini printer with 10 sheets included, Bluetooth 5.2 and a 12-month warranty.

Pros

  • 10 sheets of Zink paper in the box
  • Bluetooth 5.2 for iOS and Android
  • Prints are sticky-backed, water and smudge resistant
  • 12-month warranty, the only stated term here

Cons

  • Zink only: no ink means no true black cartridge control
  • 2x3 prints are small for framing
  • Paper refills are the running cost
  • White finish only in this listing
Detailed Review

The Liene Pearl K100 leads this list on paperwork and completeness: a stated 12-month warranty where its rivals state none, and 10 sheets of Zink paper in the box so it prints on day one. Its extracted resolution is 300 dpi, the honest middle of this group.

The Zink paper is sticky-backed with a glossy overcoat the listing calls water resistant, tear resistant and smudge proof, and Liene claims prints will not fade even for 10 years. Treat the decade as a claim, but the format is the point: these are stickers for albums, laptops and journals, printed from a phone over Bluetooth 5.2. For a buyer whose printing is entirely phone photos, the included paper and the stated warranty make this the lowest-friction start in the list.

Its Office Score of 9.5/10 comes from performance 28/35, build 18/25, value 18/25, safety not scored (non-powered gear) and warranty 3/5: 67 of 90 points, placed on our 9.2 to 9.8 scale.

For sharper prints: the only inkjet here, at 600 DPI, with a cartridge rated for up to 80 full-color 2x3 photos.

Pros

  • 600 DPI, the highest resolution stated here
  • Inkjet, not Zink, for full-color prints
  • One cartridge prints up to 80 photos
  • 308 g and pocket-sized, per the listing

Cons

  • No warranty term is stated beyond a limited warranty label
  • USB adapter is not included in the box
  • Ink cartridges are a second running cost beside paper
  • Paper loads smooth side down; a small learning step
Detailed Review

The Nelko PP01 is the technical outlier: an inkjet in a field of Zink printers, stating 600 DPI where the Zink models state 300 or nothing. A cartridge prints up to 80 full-color photos, which changes the running-cost shape from paper-only to paper plus ink.

It weighs 308 g and connects over Bluetooth to the Nelko app, with AI editing features. The warranty is described only as a limited warranty, with no term, and the charging adapter is not included. For a buyer who prints often and wants resolution over simplicity, it is the strongest specification here; the warranty gap keeps it second. Its app editing is also the most ambitious claim in the group, though editing lives in the phone rather than the printer.

Its Office Score of 9.5/10 comes from performance 30/35, build 19/25, value 19/25, safety not scored (non-powered gear) and warranty 0/5: 68 of 90 points, placed on our 9.2 to 9.8 scale.

For parties and shared printing: HP's pocket Zink printer, Bluetooth 5.3, with multiple phones able to print at once.

Pros

  • Bluetooth 5.3, the newest connection here
  • Multiple devices can print at the same time
  • 35 prints per charge, per the listing
  • HP app adds filters, frames and stickers

Cons

  • Zink paper is the only media it takes
  • Warranty is limited with no term stated
  • 2x3 is the only print size
  • Purple edition; colour options vary by listing
Detailed Review

The HP Sprocket is the social pick: a pocket-sized Zink printer that several phones can print to at once, with a personalised LED showing who is printing. That party trick is a genuine difference in this list, where the other printers serve one phone at a time.

It states 35 prints per charge over micro USB, and its app carries the editing tools, filters, frames and stickers. The warranty is described as limited with no term in the data here. Against the Liene it loses the included-paper and warranty comparisons; against the Nelko it loses resolution. It wins on brand support and shared use, and for households where the printer sits in a shared space and prints for everyone, that shared use is the feature that will actually be exercised weekly.

Its Office Score of 9.5/10 comes from performance 29/35, build 19/25, value 18/25, safety not scored (non-powered gear) and warranty 0/5: 66 of 90 points, placed on our 9.2 to 9.8 scale.

A palm-size Zink photo printer with Bluetooth and NFC for sticky-back 2x3 prints.

Pros

  • Bluetooth and NFC for iOS and Android
  • Zink zero-ink sticky-back prints
  • 25 photos per full charge
  • 1 year limited warranty is stated

Cons

  • 60 seconds per photo, 1 ppm
  • 2x3 in only
  • Starter pack only; refills are Zink paper
  • 313 x 400 dpi max
Detailed Review

KODAK lists the Step as a Zink 2x3 sticky-back photo printer that connects to iOS and Android over Bluetooth or NFC, with a KODAK app for collages, filters and stickers. It states 300 by 300 and 313 by 400 dpi, 1 ppm at 60 seconds per photo, and a built-in rechargeable battery good for 25 photos per charge. It is under a pound at 1 by 2 by 3 in. The box includes a starter pack of Zink paper, a micro USB cable and a quick start guide, and the warranty is 1 year limited.

Who it's for: someone who wants pocket-size sticky prints at parties and trips. Who should skip it: anyone who needs 4x6 photos or fast printing.

Its Office Score of 9.4/10 comes from performance 27/35, build 18/25, value 19/25, safety 0/10 and warranty 3/5: 67 of 100 points, placed on our 9.2 to 9.8 scale.

How we scored them

The Office Score weighs performance, build, value, safety and warranty. Performance is print quality as stated: resolution and process. Value counts what is in the box and what a print costs to keep making. Only the Liene states a warranty term, 12 months, and no listing states a safety certification. How we pick explains the weights.

Product Office Score Perf. /35 Build /25 Value /25 Safety /10 Warranty /5
Liene Pearl K100 9.5 28 18 18 n/a 3
Nelko PP01 9.5 30 19 19 n/a 0
HP Sprocket 9.5 29 19 18 n/a 0

Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.

How to choose the best mini color printer

Pick the process first: Zink, inkjet or 4PASS

Zink paper carries its own colour, so there is no ink to buy and prints come out dry and sticky-backed; three printers here work that way. The Nelko’s inkjet states the highest resolution, 600 DPI, and adds cartridges to the running costs. The Kodak Mini 2 Retro’s 4PASS is the third route. Our best printer for occasional use at home list covers the document side these minis do not.

Running costs are the real price

Every print consumes paper, and the Nelko consumes ink as well, up to 80 photos per cartridge. The Liene includes 10 sheets; the others state no included count here. A low-priced printer with costly paper is the category’s standard trap, so price the refills before the printer, and work out your cost per photo across a year of printing rather than across the first pack.

One phone or many

Most mini printers pair with one phone at a time. The HP Sprocket is the exception, taking prints from multiple devices at once, which is why it suits events. For a single user’s journal and album printing, that feature is worth nothing and the Liene’s warranty is worth more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these printers print documents?

No. All five print 2×3 photos from smartphones, and none of them takes plain paper or connects as a computer printer in the usual sense. For documents you need a home office printer, a different category entirely.

Which prints the sharpest photos?

On stated figures, the Nelko PP01, at 600 DPI from an inkjet process. The Liene states 300 dpi; the others state no resolution here.

Do Zink printers need ink?

No. Zink paper has the colour embedded in it, which is why the HP, Liene and Kodak Step list no cartridges. The Nelko inkjet does use cartridges.

Which has a real warranty?

The Liene, at a stated 12 months. The HP and Nelko describe limited warranties without a term, and the two Kodak listings state none.
