The best 27 inch monitor privacy screen is the one that blacks out the sides without ruining the view from your chair, because a filter that dims your own screen is a filter you peel off by Friday. Side-angle privacy, a mount that fits your bezel, and a finish you can read all day decide the pick. We compared five 27 inch monitor privacy screens by size, hardness, finish, mounting and pack size, using only what each listing publishes.

How we scored them
The Office Score weighs performance, build, value, safety and warranty. For a privacy screen, safety means stated certifications on the listing; only the SightPro single states Section 889 and TAA compliance. None of the five states a warranty term. The published scoring weights decide the ranking.
| Product | Office Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mamol 2-Pack | 9.6 | 30 | 21 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| SightPro SP-PSB27169 | 9.6 | 29 | 21 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| PJOVORY Magnetic | 9.6 | 28 | 20 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| SightPro 2-Pack | 9.6 | 27 | 20 | 21 | n/a | 0 |
| Izmapaic 27 in | 9.5 | 27 | 19 | 20 | n/a | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score. Safety counts only for powered gear or where the listing states safety features; where it does not apply, the score is taken over the remaining 90 points.
How to choose the best 27 inch monitor privacy screen
Measure the visible area, not the diagonal
Every listing here warns against buying by diagonal alone. The standard 27 in 16:9 visible area is 23 9/16 by 13 1/4 in, or 598 by 337 mm, and four of the five state exactly that. Measure your screen’s width and height excluding the frame, then match the filter to those figures. A filter cut for a different 27 in panel will not sit right.
How it mounts: adhesive, slide tabs or magnetic
Adhesive strips stick to any screen but are semi-permanent. Slide mount tabs need a raised bezel and let you slide the filter on and off. The PJOVORY hangs magnetically with alloy brackets, but only on frameless monitors, and it does not fit curved displays. Pick the mount your monitor actually supports; check the bezel before you order.
Viewing angle and finish
Stated privacy angles run from around 28 to 30 degrees on the magnetic and hanging models to 60 degrees for full blackout on the Mamol. Three picks are reversible: the glossy side gives stronger privacy and clarity, the matte side cuts glare. If you work under bright overhead lights, the matte side matters more than the angle number.
Hardness and 2-packs
Stated surface hardness runs from 2H on the SightPro 2-pack to 9H on the Mamol and the SightPro single. The Mamol, SightPro 2-pack and several more-picks come as 2-packs for a second monitor. A harder surface resists scratches from daily slide-on and slide-off use.
Setup Notes
- Measure the visible width and height excluding the frame; do not rely on the 27 in diagonal alone.
- Confirm your bezel type first: slide tabs need a raised bezel, magnetic hanging needs a frameless panel.
- Clean the monitor with the included microfiber cloth before applying adhesive strips.
- Check the stated 598 by 337 mm fit against curved or ultrawide panels, which these filters do not cover.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you measure for a monitor privacy screen?
Measure the visible screen width and height excluding the frame. For a 27 in 16:9 panel that is 23 9/16 by 13 1/4 in. Do not buy on diagonal size alone.
How do you clean a privacy screen?
Use the included microfiber cloth. The Mamol states its filter is washable and reusable; let it dry fully before remounting.
How do you remove a privacy screen from a monitor?
Slide-mount tabs let you slide the filter off a raised bezel. Magnetic models lift straight off. Adhesive strips are semi-permanent and may leave residue.
Do privacy screens work on curved monitors?
The SightPro single states it works with flat and curved monitors. The PJOVORY states it is not compatible with curved displays. Check the listing for your panel type.
Glossy or matte side?
On reversible filters, the glossy side gives stronger privacy and clarity while the matte side minimizes glare. The Mamol, Izmapaic and Protescreen listings all describe this trade-off.
