How we scored them
The Office Score weighs performance, build, value, safety and warranty. For an RGB lamp, safety means stated protections such as overload, short-circuit and over-current protection; a pick that states none scores zero on that line, whatever its color count. Four of the five picks state a warranty term, from 12 months to 3 years, and only one states a protection system. How we pick explains the weights.
| Product | Office Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| cozoo Bedside Lamp | 9.6 | 27 | 20 | 21 | 7 | 3 |
| Dailyfun Corner Floor Lamp | 9.5 | 28 | 20 | 20 | 0 | 4 |
| OIYN Corner Floor Lamp | 9.5 | 28 | 19 | 20 | 0 | 4 |
| Govee RGBIC Floor Lamp | 9.5 | 29 | 20 | 20 | 0 | 3 |
| Govee Gaming Light Bars | 9.4 | 28 | 19 | 20 | 0 | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score.
How to choose the best desk lamp rgb
Floor lamp, light bar or bedside lamp
Form decides placement. The Govee, OIYN and Dailyfun picks are floor lamps for corners, the Govee H6047 pick is a pair of light bars for a desk or shelf, and the cozoo pick is a bedside lamp for a nightstand. A floor lamp fills a room with color, bars sit behind a monitor or on a shelf, and a bedside lamp trades room coverage for a small footprint plus outlets. Pick the form that matches where the light will actually sit before comparing colors.
Color counts and scene modes
Color counts here run from 16 million to 16.8 million, which is a small gap in practice, while scene modes differ more: 85 on the Govee floor lamp, 68 on the OIYN lamp, and 60 or more on the Govee bars, with the Dailyfun lamp stating multiple dynamic modes and no count. A high color count matters less than the scenes you will actually use, so check the mode list against the moods you want: gaming, movie nights, parties or a quiet evening. See our best desk lamp for bedroom guide for more bedroom options.
Control: voice, app, remote or dial
Control splits the group cleanly. The Govee floor lamp and the Govee bars answer to Alexa and Google Assistant with app control, and the bars add a smart dial. The OIYN lamp answers to app and remote with no Alexa or Google support, and the Dailyfun lamp answers to app, remote and control box over Bluetooth only, with no Wi-Fi and no Alexa. The cozoo lamp answers to app control. Match the control to the room: voice control suits a desk you sit at, while a remote suits a lamp across the room.
| Lamp | Brightness | Scenes | Control |
|---|---|---|---|
| cozoo Bedside Lamp | 9W bulb | Not stated | App |
| Dailyfun Corner Floor Lamp | Not stated | Multiple modes | App, remote, control box |
| OIYN Corner Floor Lamp | Not stated | 68 scenes | App, remote |
| Govee RGBIC Floor Lamp | 1000 lumens | 85 scenes | App, voice |
| Govee Gaming Light Bars | 3 watts | 60+ scenes | App, dial, voice |
Music sync and power
All five picks state music sync, but the mechanism differs: the Govee floor lamp, the OIYN lamp and the Govee bars sync through the app or audio, while the Dailyfun lamp uses a high-sensitivity mic to catch the beat. All five are corded electric, so plan one outlet per lamp, and note the cozoo lamp is the only pick that adds outlets of its own, with 3 USB ports and 2 AC outlets in its base. See our best desk lamp cordless guide if you need a lamp without a cord.
Setup Notes
- Measure the corner and the ceiling: the Govee floor lamp is 53.7 inches tall and the Dailyfun lamp is 59 inches tall.
- Check the network: the Govee floor lamp needs 2.4GHz, the Dailyfun lamp is Bluetooth only with no Wi-Fi, and the OIYN lamp uses Bluetooth.
- Plan control: the Govee floor lamp ships with no remote, while the OIYN and Dailyfun lamps include one.
- Count outlets: the cozoo lamp adds 3 USB ports and 2 AC outlets to the nightstand.
- Note the warranty term: 3 years on the OIYN and Dailyfun lamps, 2 years on the cozoo lamp, 12 months on the Govee floor lamp, and none stated on the light bars.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do RGB lamps work with Alexa?
Some do and some do not. The Govee floor lamp and the Govee bars state Alexa and Google Assistant support, while the OIYN listing states it does not support Alexa or Google Assistant, and the Dailyfun listing states it is not compatible with Alexa.
What is RGBIC lighting?
RGBIC lighting lets each segment of the lamp show its own color at the same time, so the lamp can display several colors at once instead of one color overall. The Govee listings describe customizing each segment color for multicolor effects.
Do these lamps sync with music?
Yes, all five picks state music sync. The Govee floor lamp, the OIYN lamp and the Govee bars sync through the app or audio, the Dailyfun lamp uses a high-sensitivity mic, and the cozoo lamp lists color change sync to music.
Do RGB floor lamps need Wi-Fi?
No. The Dailyfun lamp is Bluetooth only with no Wi-Fi, and the OIYN lamp uses Bluetooth with app and remote control. The Govee floor lamp needs a 2.4GHz network for its voice and app features.
Can a bedside lamp charge my phone?
The cozoo lamp can: its base holds 3 USB ports and 2 AC outlets, and the listing states the USB ports work whether the lamp is on or off. The other picks state no charging ports.
