Best Office Chair for Thick Carpet (2026): 5 Compared

The MuArts is the standout of this list: a 1/5 inch thick, 14 lb chair mat that the listing calls far sturdier than the common 1/8 inch, 8 lb mats. At 54 by 32 inches with a stated 1400 pound weight capacity, it is built to keep chair casters from sinking into carpet, and the crystal clear finish lets the carpet pattern show through. It works on carpet or hard floor and cannot be folded or curled.

Who it's for: anyone on thick carpet whose chair sinks into a thin mat, and who wants the stated 12-month warranty and lifetime technical support. Who should skip it: anyone who needs to roll the mat up for storage, or who wants a larger 60 inch span.
